WebOutlands has a custom (IMO much better) map and custom content, but because it emulates the t2a/renaissance era ruleset, it is MUCH closer to the "original" Ultima Online experience than the Official servers (of which only really Atlantic is still alive). Also being the most populated captures the size and scope of late 90s Ultima. WebI hope Outlands is a massive success, it helps the UO scene overall and I'm excited to play on it. I hope other shards who offer different gameplay make use of their map content to bring even more excitement back to UO. The private wow scene is suffering because of the same attitude that has put the UO scene on its last legs.

WebOutlands is more akin to UO pre-DiablUO (AoS), where the items and grinding for gear took precedence over the emergent gameplay and sandbox elements. Outlands has a lot of custom content that puts it ahead of typical UOR/T2A-era servers, so it isn't exactly stuck in 1999-2000, but it will feel dated despite it (then again, EJ isn't much better in that regard lol).
